Job Summary

The Project Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technology support for project personnel, systems, and infrastructure associated with large-scale construction and manufacturing operations. This position serves as the primary technical resource for end-user computing, mobile devices, printers, project systems, network support, equipment integration, user access administration, and technology troubleshooting.

The Project Information Technology Specialist works closely with project management, engineering, construction, manufacturing, quality, safety, and business operations personnel to ensure reliable operation of technology systems that support project execution. This position also assists with the integration of software applications, hardware systems, mobile technologies, and business platforms to ensure efficient project operations.

Key Responsibilities

End User Support

  • Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers.
  • Configure and deploy computer hardware and software.
  • Support printers, scanners, plotters, and other peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, software, and hardware issues.
  • Coordinate technology onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain technology asset inventories.

Mobile and Field Technology Support

  • Support tablets, smartphones, and mobile applications.
  • Configure field mobility solutions.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and synchronization issues.
  • Support field personnel in construction and manufacturing environments.
  • Coordinate mobile device replacements and repairs.

Systems Administration Support

  • Manage user accounts and access permissions.
  • Support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Assist with application installations and system configurations.
  • Support project software platforms.
  • Coordinate software upgrades and patches.

Network and Infrastructure Support

  • Provide first-level network troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with corporate IT personnel and service providers.
  • Support wireless networks and connectivity.
  • Assist with network equipment deployment.
  • Escalate infrastructure issues as required.

Project Technology Systems

  • Support project management systems.
  • Support document management systems.
  • Support SharePoint environments.
  • Support scheduling and project controls applications.
  • Assist with integration between project software platforms.

Hardware and Software Integration

  • Participate in technical discussions involving software and hardware interfaces.
  • Support system integration efforts between business systems and field technologies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technology integration issues.
  • Work with vendors and project stakeholders to resolve technical problems.
  • Support implementation of new technology solutions.

Cybersecurity and Compliance

  • Follow established cybersecurity requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project technology policies.
  • Support user awareness regarding cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist with access control and system protection efforts.

Qualifications / Experience

Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 5+ years of IT support experience.
  • Experience supporting construction, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or project environments.
  • Construction project experience.
  • Manufacturing systems experience.
  • Industrial facility experience.
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience supporting engineering applications.
  • Experience supporting project controls and scheduling platforms.
  • Experience supporting document management systems.
