As the mechanical contractor for the Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Hoops Family Children’s Hospital renovations, Geiger Brothers was responsible for all plumbing, medical gas, heating and ventilation upgrades.
The first phase included reconstruction of treatment, procedure and play rooms as well as the first set of eight patient-ready rooms with unique features and upgrades that make the environment family and child friendly.
During the first phase, Geiger Brothers work included 15 contract helicopter lifts fo air handling units, piping and support structures to the roof of the hospital. All lifts were completed in just over an hour on an early Sunday morning.
The second phase consisted of reconstructing 10 rooms that are fully equipped for critically ill and injured children for the hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as well as a new waiting room.
